The most flexible and easy to use perfusion chamber-assembly for upright and inverted microscopes. To accommodate the wide range of possible applications, this system consists of three movable and replaceable elements: bath chamber, magnetic adjustable tubing/electrode holders and a stainless microscope stage insert. It could be used with upright or inverted microscopes, fluorescent or water immersion objectives, tissue slices or single cells, and could be used as stand alone or could be easily adapted to perfusion systems.
The chamber is made out of polycarbonate. It is 4 mm dip and extends only 0.8 mm above the microscope adapter. This low profile fits under most objectives of upright microscopes. The I.D. of working area is 21 mm, wide enough to work with tissue slices. In fact, this design is popular among researchers, who work with brain slices. Water immersion objectives could be easily positioned inside the wide opening. A small volume version of the chamber is also available. The bottom of the chamber is a replaceable no. 2 glass cover slip, which lets you to use the chamber with inverted/fluorescent microscopes as well. The coverslip could be glued to the chamber by using any adhesive. We recommend sticky wax, which could melt under hot air from a regular hair drier. A jar of sticky wax and a box of 100 coverslips are included.
