The entire oxygenating chamber is water-jacketed
to maintain temperature control and uses
our Radnoti Quick Disconnect system for easy,
secure assembly. The upper chamber is a condenser
formed from six linked spheres that provide
maximal surface area for re-warming and re-oxygenating
the perfusate. Luer entry and exit ports
at the top and bottom permit the flow of
solution to the heart. An additional five
Luer side ports can be used for the entry
and exit of oxygen, media overflow, perfusate
return (when in the working heart mode),
as well as for sampling or adding solutions.
The lower end of the chamber has a thermocouple
port that permits monitoring of perfusate
temperature as well as a port for insertion
of a pH probe to monitor perfusate pH. Constructed
of borosilicate glass.
